- No foul language on Facebook – or anywhere else online!
- Nothing even remotely sexual – what seems like a joke in the moment can be super offensive to even a part-time employer – and believe me, they’re checking everyone out online – your Facebook page or 2nd Life identity is NOT secret enough.
- Ditto the above even OFFLINE if there’s a camera around (and when isn’t there?). Your kids may be saints online, but even a few indiscriminate photos uploaded by friends can be brand breakers.
- Watch the comments on OTHER people’s blogs – even the New York Times! Online is a great place to vent / share our opinions – but truly, if negative, they are better off shared over a cuppa java with friends. Alienating the sub-group that you ranted against can truly come back to bite you later on in life.
