A Call to Action to KEEP Your Audience, By Branding Expert, Libby Gill

Today’s Branding Tip is vital for a successful website, landing page, and even your blog! In fact, it’s vital to remember even when you’re simply meeting people or giving a presentation.  I was recently at a seminar in New York where four leaders in the fine arts gave a round table discussion given by Crains New York on the funding dilemmas of reaching Gen X’ers and baby boomers. At the end of the discussion, each one simply said than, you.  Nobody handed out free tickets to an event, asked for a pledge, or even passed out a business card – talk about a missed opportunity!  Have you figured out that vital ingredient yet? Have a call to action! What do you want your visitor or contact to do? Especially on a website - you must have a very clear call to action so that your site visitor knows what to do – in priority order too, because sometimes we have more than one call to action.  And if there’s nothing to ask them to act upon that day, at least remind them to sign up for your newsletter.  (Mine, by the way, is at the top right hand side of my blog page!)

Without a call to action, you’re simply standing there on stage without ever inviting your audience to another show.
